After the crash landing, on an unknown island, the passengers, of the now destroyed Oceanic Airlines plane, depart from the wreckage to find they are on a beach, but they don't seem to be the first set of castaways.
There is a small beach-front camp with makeshift homes, made from discarded airplane pieces and other found objects. I envisioned the space to be a bit like the "Swiss Family Robinson Tree-House." Passengers can explore the camp, perhaps even getting the chance to eat some fresh mango (Perhaps a 'Mango-Whip' would be in order, after such a trying ordeal?)

As it turns out the beach camp is not totally uninhabited, and passengers are treated to their first meeting with one of the locals. He or she, invites the passengers to explore the island, and advises them that it is impossible to leave until they have put together some clues found at the different stations located on the island.
The local sends the castaways off, advising that they can explore the "Swan" and "Orchid" stations right away, or head to the Barracks to find out more information from members of the "Dharma Initiative."
The entrance to the Swan is the first station, with the Barracks visible in the distance. ©IIWAI |
It is at this point that the passengers are now free to explore the stations and trails of their new island home. They will have the ability to advance further through the story by heading to the Dharma Motor Pool.
